On March 24, 2015, Mercy Corps and IDEO hosted an event in San Francisco focused on Principle 7: Reuse & Improve.
The interactive session included presentations from these thought leaders:
- Carl Hartung, Chief Technology Officer, Nafundi of Open Data Kit fame, on reusing and extending software systems
- Patrice Martin, Co-lead and Creative Director, IDEO.org, on reusing methodologies across programs
- Steve Daniels, Executive Director, Makeshift, on reusing off-the-shelf tools in creative ways
Discussion centered around practical understanding of how to implement Principle 7 in real life, and participants walked away with a solid understanding of how to reuse and improve development solutions in multiple contexts.
